Lee Roy Selmon blends the merits of football scholarship in his home with the benefits of community service. He is the youngest child from Lucious Selmon and Jessie Selmon. They had him raised on their farm in Eufala. Two soccer. He is among the three brothers that were players for Oklahoma. All three brothers were All-Americans. They made the All-America team in 1973. Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the starters for one year. Lee Roy was named the most offensive lineman in the United States by Outland as well as Lombardi Awards. During his three years as Oklahoma's starting quarterback and Sooners' starting quarterback, they went 32-1-1 and captured two national titles. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975 and named as a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in educational studies. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer time per week throughout the college. He moved to Tampa after graduation, and playing for the Buccaneers for nine seasons and played three times in the all-pro league. His business career began. He began his career in 1988. was working as an Account Relations Officer for First Florida Bank in Tampa. He was employed by the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as well as the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. So it's not surprising that in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of America's most outstanding young men. While a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and was weighing 256 pounds. He was captain of his college team in 1975. In 1993, he became the associate director of the University of South Florida. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988. He was also named to the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. The Selmons' parents Lucious and Mary Selmon Sr. were awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor, who presented this award.
